Captain America: Civil War

Official movie description:

"Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War" finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps-one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability."

Captain America: Cvil War is an incredible, sprawling, and effective superhero movie. You can't take any of those descriptors for granted these days with all the superhero movies that hit theaters.

I love how all the superheroes were integrated into the story in a way that makes sense. The story is clear, and very plausible in the world of the Avengers. It's probably my single favorite Marvel superhero movie so far.

After the somewhat bad Iron Man 3, (which has kind of grown on me a bit since it came out, but still not that great), the overrated and "just okay" Captain America: The Winter Solider,  and the mediocre Avengers: Age of Ultron, I was beginning to get fatigued of the Avengers story lines. (Although, Ant Man was definitely a bright spot! I love that movie.) Then, Civil War was a blast of fresh air in the franchise.

Civil War is excellently written. They take the culmination of all the Marvel storylines and weave them into this new story about the in-fighting between the Avengers. They appropriately reference all the former Marvel stories in a way that adds to the present story. So, a word of caution: if you haven't seen any, or many, of the other Marvel superhero movies, you will be mostly lost and confused with the plot in Civil War. You still might enjoy most of it, but it might be confusing.

If you haven't had the chance to see Captain America: Civil War yet, and you like other Marvel movies, please go see it this weekend! You will probably love it.  (And yes, it is big, loud, and full of fights and explosions!)
