Incredibles 2 review

I saw a sneak peak of Incredibles 2 last night. The first scene picks up right where the first Incredibles movie left off way back in 2004.

Incredibles 2  is exiting, colorful, and filled with fun twists and turns. There's some funny satire about modern suburban family life in the form of Mr. Incredible playing babysitter. And, some hilarious new revelations about baby Jack Jack. The other characters evolve, too.

Incredibles 2 is a fun family movie full of exciting action and meaningful character arcs. Even if you're not a fan of the first one, you'll find a positive high-quality family animated Disney movie full of fun superheroes. If you are a fan of the first one (like me), you'll absolutely love this new one. It's not quite as great as the first one, but it is a welcomed and long overdue sequel.

Incredibles 2 benefits greatly from having the same director and writer as the first movie, Brad Bird. It strikes the same tone and themes of the first one.

Here's Disney's official description of the movie:

Everyone's favorite family of superheroes is back in "Incredibles 2"--but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of "normal" life. It's a tough transistion for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack's emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again--which is easier said than done, even when they're all Incredible.
